ROSS BURT FROM PLYMOUTH CAUGHT WITH INDECENT VIDEOS AND POSTS JOKE PICTURE AFTER COURT RELEASE

Ross Burt, a 30-year-old man from Plymouth, found himself at the center of a disturbing case involving the possession of explicit and highly inappropriate videos. Authorities uncovered that Burt had stored a total of 23 explicit videos on his mobile device, including one that depicted a man and a pony, as well as two videos classified as extreme pornography. The discovery of such material raised serious concerns about his conduct and the potential impact on those around him.

Despite the gravity of the evidence, Burt was brought before Plymouth Crown Court where Judge Ian Lawrie presided over his case. In a surprising decision, the judge chose to avoid sending Burt to prison, citing the public shame and humiliation he had already endured as sufficient punishment. Burt was handed a suspended nine-month prison sentence, which would not be activated unless he committed further offenses within an 18-month period. Additionally, he was ordered to pay costs amounting to £340.

During the trial, Burt claimed that the obscene videos had been sent to him by a friend and that his phone had 'automatically' saved the content, asserting that he had not intentionally downloaded or kept the videos. His defense also highlighted the adverse effects of the case on his family, particularly noting that his children had been subjected to bullying at school due to the intense media coverage and sensational headlines focusing on the extreme nature of the pornography involved.

However, the case did not end with the court proceedings. Just days after the judge's lenient ruling, Burt took to social media, specifically Facebook, where he posted a joke picture of a man wearing a horse mask, giving a thumbs-up. This act was seen as highly inappropriate and disrespectful, especially considering the serious nature of his previous charges. The image was a stark contrast to the court's decision and demonstrated a lack of remorse or understanding of the gravity of his actions.

In summary, Ross Burt's case from Plymouth highlights the ongoing issues surrounding the possession of indecent material and the importance of accountability. While the court opted for a lenient sentence, Burt's subsequent social media activity underscored the challenges law enforcement and society face in addressing such offenses and ensuring respect for the victims and the community at large.
