RONALD BAILLIE PERPETRATES HORRIFIC SEXUAL ABUSE IN PERTH AND GLASGOW NEIGHBORHOODS
A man named Ronald Baillie has been accused of committing a series of disturbing sexual assaults on two young boys, with the heinous acts allegedly carried out over a span of five years. The court heard that Baillie targeted the boys during specific holiday periods, including Christmas and New Year, in a disturbing pattern of abuse that has left a lasting impact on the victims.
According to court records, the assaults took place both at the victims' residence in Muirend, Glasgow, and at Baillie's own home located in Perthshire.
The incidents reportedly began in the early hours of Boxing Day in 1982, when the youngest victim, then only 10 years old, was assaulted while he was in bed.
The prosecuting attorney, Kay Potter, detailed that similar acts of abuse recurred every Christmas and New Year during the following years, continuing until the boy approached the age of 16.
Additional incidents also occurred during Easter, September, and October school holidays, when Baillie was visiting the boys.
Furthermore, the second victim, who was 13 at the time, also fell prey to Baillie's inappropriate conduct starting in late 1982.
His abuse persisted for approximately three years before it was finally reported to authorities in June of the previous year.
The court heard that Baillie, a father of two and now residing at Talisker Place in Perth, initially made a partial confession to police.
During his statement, he claimed that one of the boys was 'quite happy' to allow him to engage in these acts, and he attempted to justify his actions by suggesting that some of the conduct was merely 'kidding on' or a 'laugh at the time.' Baillie also claimed that one of the victims, who was 10 years old during the abuse, bore some responsibility for what happened.
Baillie, aged 63 and married, now faces serious legal consequences as he has admitted to acting in a lewd and libidinous manner.
His case was heard at Glasgow Sheriff Court, where Sheriff Alistair Noble decided to defer sentencing until next month.
In the meantime, Baillie has been placed on the sex offenders' register, reflecting the gravity of the allegations against him.
