EDINBURGH MAN SENTENCED TO 22 YEARS FOR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE IN OXFORDSHIRE
A man from Edinburgh has been sentenced to prison for 32 counts of child sexual offences after abusing boys in Oxfordshire and Berkshire over several years. Roderick Bryce-Hagain, also known as Roderick Bryce-Stafford, was sentenced to 22 years in prison with a five-year extended license at Oxford Crown Court on July 7, 2025. The trial, which lasted three weeks, concluded on April 24, where a jury unanimously found him guilty of the charges. It was reported that Bryce-Hagain, aged 54, sexually abused four boys over a period of several years in Oxfordshire and Berkshire. His convictions include 11 counts of sexual assault, four counts of sexual activity with a child, and two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. Additional guilty verdicts were given for three counts of rape, three counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, and three counts of causing a child to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity. Bryce-Hagain was also found guilty of causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent, inciting a child to engage in non-penetrative sex, attempted rape, and causing a child to engage in penetrative sexual activity. Detective Constable Nicola Fullerton from the Child Abuse Investigation Unit expressed gratitude to the victims for their courage and encouraged others to come forward, emphasizing her team’s commitment to bringing offenders to justice.
