ROBIN MASSEY SENTENCED TO TEN YEARS IN PRISON FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN SNITTERBY

In a case that has shocked the community of Snitterby, Robin Massey, aged 60, has been handed a ten-year prison sentence after admitting to a series of heinous crimes involving children. The offences, which spanned over eight years from January 2004 to September 2012, include a disturbing array of sexual misconduct and exploitation against two young girls.

Robin Massey, residing on School Lane in Snitterby, faced a total of 24 charges in Lincoln Crown Court. These charges encompassed 11 counts of sexual assault, two counts of indecent assault, and two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. Additionally, he was charged with three counts of taking indecent photographs of a child, five counts of making indecent images of a child, and possession of a staggering 27,539 indecent images of children. The severity and breadth of these allegations led the judge to classify Massey as a “dangerous” individual.

Judge Sean Morris, presiding over the case, expressed his firm judgment regarding Massey’s character and the threat he poses. He stated, “You have pleaded guilty to a catalogue of paedophile behaviour against these little girls. I am quite satisfied that you are dangerous. There is a significant risk of serious harm to children from you and the likelihood is that you will commit other similar offences unless you are given a lengthy custodial sentence.”

The investigation into Massey’s activities was initiated after one of the victims confided in her mother, prompting authorities to act. During the subsequent police investigation, Massey’s computer was seized, revealing a disturbing collection of thousands of pornographic images. Among these were photographs depicting Massey abusing one of his victims, a discovery that further underscored the gravity of his crimes.

When questioned, Massey expressed remorse, claiming he was ashamed of his actions. Prosecutor Catarina Sjolin highlighted the profound impact on the victims, describing the consequences as “huge” and “devastating.”

Defense lawyer Graham Huston acknowledged Massey’s awareness of his wrongdoing, stating, “He knows his behaviour was wrong. He describes himself as somebody who has an overwhelming addiction. He hates himself.”

As part of his sentence, Massey will remain on license until 2028, at which point he will be 75 years old. He has also been placed on the sex offenders’ register for life and is permanently banned from working with children. The case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing threat posed by individuals with such dangerous predilections, and the community of Snitterby can now hope for some measure of justice and safety.
