PERTH MAN FACES COURT OVER DRUNKEN ABUSE AFTER BIRTHDAY PARTY
A roads worker who was under the influence of alcohol and drunkenly abused his partner after they had been guests at a birthday party has appeared in court.Robert Sot admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at an address in James Street, Perth, on November 11 last year.He works for BEAR Scotland and was found to have been shouting and swearing while acting aggressively.Perth Sheriff Court heard that Sot had gone to the property with his partner to attend a party.Depute fiscal Lisa Marshall explained: “The accused left at 10pm, leaving the complainer and their son, who were staying there overnight.“At 1am into the morning of November 3 the accused returned to the locus.“He had been drinking and was very aggressive, shouting at the complainer,” she added.“The complainer and her friend were fearful that violence would follow.”She added that Sot had called his partner a number of abusive names and refused to leave the property, which led the homeowner to call the police.Defence solicitor Erica Watson stated: “Mr Sot had consumed some alcohol and his recollection is not clear but he admits acting in the manner described.”She also noted that he was the main breadwinner in the family.Sheriff William Wood decided to defer the sentence on Sot, of South Inch Place, Perth, for the preparation of background reports.
