March 2016 Pervert poses as teenage girl to have ‘sexual chats’ with kids A warped sex offender with “perverted impulses” who posed as an 18-year-old girl to entice a schoolboy to send naked photos of himself has been spared jail. Sick Robert Sharpe, 37, posed online as a woman called Annabelle to have a “sexual chat” with the young boy who then sent an indecent picture of himself. Hull Crown Court heard Sharpe also chatted with a 13-year-old girl and sent her a picture of himself naked. Jurors were told the perv even asked the young girl if “she liked his hairy chest”. But the vile deviant, from Hull, East Yorks., was snagged after intelligence was passed to police which said his email address was used to download a Category A explicit image — classed as the most serious. Sharpe admitted possessing indecent images of children on June 29 last year, downloading them between March 8, 2014, and June 30, 2015. He also pleaded guilty to the inciting a child to engage in sexual behaviour on November 3, 2014. But twisted Sharpe dodged jail at Hull Crown Court yesterday. He was given a three-year community order and must attend a sex offenders group programme. Sentencing, Judge Jeremy Richardson QC said: “The long-term protection of the public has to be at the forefront of my thinking. “It’s far from a soft option and anyone who describes it as such would be mischievous in the extreme.” The court heard Sharpe’s home was raided and his computer was seized during the police investigation. Officers found a total of 15 indecent images in Sharpe’s possession and his computer also revealed search terms displaying his sexual interest in kids. February 2016 Paedophile admits child sex offences A 27-year-old man has admitted possessing indecent images of children and other offences. Robert Sharpe admitted making and possessing indecent images of children, and attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity, at Hull Crown Court yesterday. He was released on conditional bail and is due to be sentenced at the same court on March 14. Charlotte Baines, defending, applied for an adjournment for the preparation of a pre-sentence report. “I think this is a case where a full report is necessary,” said Judge Jeremy Richardson QC. Miss Baines said: “He has no previous convictions. “There are two powerful pieces of mitigation; the guilty pleas and the lack of convictions. “The pre-sentence report will build on that. “He lives with his parents. I don’t really know much more than that at the moment.” “He’s not a mature individual, by the look of it,” said the judge. “He was born in 1988,” Miss Baines said. Sharpe admitted possessing indecent images of children on June 29 last year, making them between March 8, 2014, and June 30, 2015, and the attempted incitement offence on November 3, 2014. Sharpe, of Spring Bank West, west Hull, was granted bail with the condition that he co-operates with the author of the report The judge told him: “Will you stand up, please, Robert Sharpe. “You have heard what has happened. There is going to be a report. “You must read nothing into the fact that I’m releasing you on bail and I’m taking a report – it simply means that the court wishes to find out much more about your circumstances. “I expressly state to you that all sentencing options remain open, and that might include being sent to prison. “We shall await developments. Do you understand?” “Yes, sir,” Sharpe replied. The judge told him: “You are on the sex offenders register from this point onwards. “The precise length of that requirement will be determined once sentence has been passed upon you. Do you follow?” “Yes, sir,” said Sharpe.
