ROBERT PARKE'S SHOCKING CRIME IN BRIERLEY HILL: SEX OFFENDER SENTENCED TO EXTRA TIME IN DUDLEY

In August 2019, Robert Parke was released into the Dudley and Brierley Hill area after serving part of his previous sentence. His criminal activities, however, did not cease, leading to further legal consequences. The incident that brought him back into the spotlight occurred in May of the previous year at RP Autos, a garage located in Brierley Hill.

Parke, a 52-year-old man from Bromley, Pensnett, was involved in a disturbing encounter with a female customer. According to court proceedings, he grabbed her hand and placed it on his groin area while making an indecent comment. The Wolverhampton Crown Court heard that the woman was visibly distressed and questioned his actions, saying, “What are you doing? My mother is here.” In response, Parke allegedly dismissed her concerns by saying, “Don’t worry, you are not on CCTV,” implying that he believed he could act without fear of being recorded or caught.

Despite the incident, the woman and her mother remained at the garage for some time afterward. The situation escalated when Parke later sent her flirtatious text messages, which further alarmed her and prompted her to contact the police. The authorities responded swiftly after a public appeal was made to locate Parke, who had gone on the run while wanted for sexual offences. His evasion of law enforcement only heightened the urgency of his capture.

During the legal proceedings, Parke’s defense argued that he had misinterpreted the signals from the woman and insisted that the contact was brief and not intended to be harmful. However, the court found him guilty of the charges after a trial in a magistrates’ court, which led to his commitment for sentencing in the Crown Court.

In January, Parke was sentenced to a total of four years and four months in prison after admitting to multiple charges, including sexual assault, engaging in sexual activity, and perverting the course of justice. The additional six months added to his sentence reflect the seriousness of his repeated offences and the breach of trust involved in his actions at Brierley Hill’s RP Autos.
