ROBERT NORMAN FROM WHITTLESEY CAUGHT WITH OVER 7000 CHILD INDECENT IMAGES IN CAMBRIDGE COURT

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Whittlesey, Robert Norman, a 36-year-old sex offender, was found to possess an alarming collection of indecent images of children across multiple electronic devices. The investigation was initiated following a search conducted at his residence on Drybread Road, Whittlesey, on September 7, 2017. During this search, authorities uncovered a total of 7,414 images classified as Category C, 127 images categorized as Category B, and 69 images deemed the most severe, Category A, all stored across Norman's phone, laptop, and a USB stick.

Norman, who is already a registered sex offender, faced serious charges after the discovery. He pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children and also admitted to breaching a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO). The case was brought before Cambridge Crown Court, where the severity of his actions was formally recognized.

On April 11, the court handed down a sentence that reflects the gravity of his offenses. Norman was sentenced to a three-year community order, which includes a requirement to participate in 60 days of rehabilitation activities. Additionally, he was ordered to remain under the restrictions of the sexual harm prevention order for a further five years. The sentence underscores the ongoing concern about his risk to the community and the importance of monitoring his conduct moving forward.
