ROBERT LEMIN'S SHOCKING SEXUAL ASSAULT IN TORQUAY AND TEIGNMOUTH

In a series of disturbing legal proceedings, Robert Alan Lemin, a 40-year-old resident of Newton Road in Torquay, has been at the center of serious allegations involving sexual misconduct. The incidents, which have garnered significant attention in the local community, include a sexual assault on a minor and subsequent legal actions that have resulted in convictions and sentencing.

In March 2012, Lemin was sentenced to a twelve-month jail term, which was suspended for two years, after he pleaded guilty to sexually touching a girl under the age of 16 in Teignmouth. The court also imposed a two-year supervision order as part of his sentence, emphasizing the seriousness of his actions and the need for ongoing monitoring.

Prior to this, in February 2012, Lemin appeared at Exeter Crown Court to admit to the sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl during the summer months of the previous year. The assault took place in the resort town of Torquay between June 23 and June 26. During the hearing, Judge Graham Cottle granted Lemin conditional bail, pending the preparation of pre-sentence reports. The judge made it clear that this bail did not guarantee a lenient sentence and that Lemin could still face imprisonment.

Representing Lemin, Rupert Taylor explained that the incident was a single occurrence, which happened while his client was under the influence of alcohol. Despite the admission, the case highlights the gravity of the allegations and the legal consequences faced by Lemin.
