WORCESTER MAN ADMITS TO STRANGLING GIRLFRIEND AFTER 999 CALL
A man named Robert Ingram, residing on Ingles Drive in Worcester, called the police admitting that he had just strangled his girlfriend, stating on a 999 call that he had "strangled the **** out of her." According to prosecutor Tim Talbot-Webb, the incident took place on March 29.During the call, Ingram told the call handler: "domestic violence.
I just strangled the **** out of her." When asked by the handler if he had strangled her, Ingram replied: "Yeah, that's what I said, strangled." The court was informed that Ingram did not initially give his name, but police later identified him and spoke to the victim, who was examined and found to have been grabbed around the throat and pushed against the wall, but able to breathe.
The incident was reportedly the result of an argument where Ingram believed the victim was cheating on him.
Ingram pleaded guilty to one charge of assault by beating, and was granted conditional bail.
The case has been adjourned for a pre-sentence report with sentencing scheduled for September 23 at Kidderminster Magistrates' Court.
