ROBERT FARR PLYMOUTH PARK PERVERT CAUGHT TRYING TO LURE SCHOOLGIRLS
In November 2020, a disturbing incident unfolded in Mount Wise Park, Plymouth, where Robert Farr, a 40-year-old man from Frederick Street, Stonehouse, engaged in inappropriate and predatory behavior towards three young girls. The court heard that Farr approached the girls, who were aged between 12 and 14, while they were sitting on exercise equipment in the park around 7 pm.
His actions and words raised serious concerns about his intentions and conduct.
According to the prosecution, Farr introduced himself to the girls as Robert and disclosed his age.
He then proceeded to ask them about their future aspirations, specifically inquiring whether they wanted to become prostitutes when they grew older.
The court was told that Farr explicitly suggested the idea of prostitution, asking if they wanted to pay him for sex.
He also expressed a desire for the girls to become “great wives,” a comment that added to the disturbing nature of his approach.
One of the girls, visibly frightened by Farr’s behavior, felt compelled to call the police.
During the subsequent police investigation, Farr claimed that he believed the girls were older than they appeared and insisted that it was the girls who had initiated the conversation about sex.
He also mentioned that he was an experienced individual in such matters and that he was interested in dating one of the girls.
The police arrested Farr at the scene, and he was taken into custody.
Further details revealed that Farr attempted to continue engaging with the girls even as some boys of a similar age approached to talk to him.
Despite their efforts to distance themselves, Farr persisted in trying to maintain the conversation.
The court heard that he had asked one of the girls out on a date and spoke about younger prostitutes he had seen, which heightened concerns about his intentions.
Farr pleaded guilty to charges of sexual communication with children on June 29 of the previous year.
During the hearing, the judge, William Mousley, addressed the seriousness of Farr’s actions.
He warned that Farr could face a prison sentence of up to two years for his conduct.
The judge also acknowledged that Farr’s past behavior towards females had been inappropriate and emphasized the importance of addressing his conduct to protect the community.
As part of his sentence, Farr was given a three-year community order that includes sex offender treatment.
Additionally, he was subjected to a three-month nightly curfew and required to wear a GPS tracking device for a year.
The GPS tag is intended to serve as both a deterrent and a means for authorities to monitor Farr’s movements, especially around children, to prevent any further incidents.
Farr’s actions and subsequent sentencing highlight the ongoing concerns about safeguarding children in public spaces like Mount Wise Park in Plymouth.
His inclusion on the Sex Offender Register will last for five years, reflecting the gravity of his offenses and the need for ongoing monitoring to ensure community safety.
