--------------------------- 2025-07-31 04:00: Robert Chester, aged 65 and residing on Lynmouth Road in Rodbourne, has been sentenced after admitting to making over 3,000 indecent images of children, some as young as 10 to 12 months old.
He pleaded guilty to three counts of creating indecent photographs of children and possession of extreme pornographic images at Swindon Magistrates' Court on June 18.
Prosecutor Mr.
Cooper revealed that Chester possessed a total of 3,320 indecent images of children between December 30, 2021, and February 16, 2023, including 1,555 category A images, 639 category B images, 1,126 category C images, and still and moving images of children aged four to five and 10 to 12 months old.
Chester also had five extreme pornographic images involving bestiality, specifically an act of intercourse with a dog, dated between January 2, 2022, and February 1, 2023.
Due to the severity of the offences, the case was transferred to Swindon Crown Court, where Chester appeared for sentencing on July 25.
Judge Townsend sentenced him to 12 months in prison, suspended for two years.
Chester will be on the sex offenders register for ten years and was also issued a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
Additionally, he is required to complete up to 25 rehabilitation activity days with the probation service and pay a surcharge of £156.
