SWINDON SEX OFFENDER GIVEN CHANCE AT REHABILITATION
A man has been given a chance to demonstrate his willingness to rehabilitate after engaging in stalking and assaulting a woman in Swindon.Marcelino Pacheco, aged 45 and residing on Radnor Street, admitted to four counts of failing to meet the notification obligations of the sex offender register, two counts of assault by beating, resisting arrest by a constable on the grounds of unlikely surrender, and stalking that caused significant alarm or distress during an earlier hearing at Swindon Magistrates Court.
He was also convicted of sexually assaulting a woman and appeared for sentencing on Wednesday, July 8.
From March 18 to April 8 of this year, Pacheco stalked a woman in Swindon by visiting her home and workplace, disrupting her daily routine and causing her serious concern and distress.
He physically assaulted her on March 23 and April 7.
Additionally, he failed to fulfill the notification requirements of the sex offender register without a valid reason.
He was convicted of sexually assaulting a woman in an incident that occurred on July 28, 2025.
However, his sentencing was postponed until October 29 at Swindon Magistrates Court to give him an opportunity to demonstrate his commitment to rehabilitation.
In the meantime, he has been ordered to adhere to several conditions, including refraining from further offenses, complying with an existing community order, maintaining employment, and participating in a detoxification program.
