Ricky Williamson, aged 36 and living in Gatwick Garth, Bransholme, received a prison sentence after being found guilty of multiple assaults involving violence against a woman. He was sentenced to five years behind bars and was also subject to a restraining order.
The court was informed that Williamson committed at least two violent attacks from September 2022 to January 2023.

In another, he followed her and attempted to suffocate her, which also resulted in substantial neck injuries.
After these incidents, bystanders intervened, and Williamson fled the scene before the police could arrive.
He was detained the following day and charged with two counts of deliberate strangulation, assault, causing actual bodily harm, and criminal damage.
Williamson's appearance at Hull Crown Court on July 14 concluded with a guilty plea, leading to his five-year prison term.
A restraining order was also issued to prevent further contact.
Detective Constable Christie Fraser of Humberside Police commended the victim's bravery and underlined the importance of reporting domestic violence, commenting, 'His truly appalling attack on a vulnerable young woman was shocking, she was extremely lucky to have escaped with her life.'
