MAN STOPPED IN HALIFAX STREET BY POLICE FOUND TO HAVE SICK CHILD ABUSE WHATSAPP CHATS
Two sick paedophiles with proven sexual harm were intercepted communicating via WhatsApp about the abuse of children.
Ricky Cavanagh, aged 38, was subject to a sexual harm prevention order at the time his mobile device was examined by police.
Authorities had received intelligence indicating he was active on multiple social media platforms.
During a court session at Bradford Crown Court on Tuesday, it was revealed that the preventative order had been imposed in September 2016.
This was following Cavanagh’s conviction for several heinous sexual offences, including an attempt to induce a girl under 13 to partake in sexual activity.
Cavanagh, who was without a fixed residence, was subsequently detained and taken into custody.
Although his internet browsing history was lost, investigations uncovered WhatsApp conversations in which he communicated with another sex offender about exploiting children.
Additionally, forensic analysis of his phone revealed that Snapchat had been installed nine times and removed eight times between February and March of 2022.
