In a case that has shocked the local community of Huddersfield, Richard Tasker, a resident of Weymouth Avenue, Oakes, was sentenced to serve time in prison over the holiday season after being found guilty of possessing and creating indecent images of children.The charges stem from an incident that came to light following a police raid on his home on September 23, 2019.
Tasker was accused of multiple offences related to child exploitation images, categorized under different levels of severity.
Specifically, he faced charges of making two photographs classified as Category B, which involves images depicting non-penetrative sexual acts.
These images were part of the evidence presented during his trial.
Additionally, he was charged with creating eight photographs that fell under Category C, which includes indecent images of children that do not meet the criteria for the more severe categories but are still considered illegal.
The most serious allegations involved Category A images, which are deemed the most harmful and involve the most severe forms of child abuse.
The court was informed that some of the images found on Tasker’s devices depicted very young children, heightening the gravity of the case.
