RICHARD STILL AND SHOCKING SEXUAL OFFENCES IN READING AND WOODLEY
A dance studio owner from Woodley has been implicated in serious allegations involving a minor, leading to a court case that has garnered significant attention.Richard Still, who is the director of Vibez Dance Ballroom and Latin School located in Crockhamwell Road, Woodley, appeared before Reading Crown Court to face charges related to his conduct with a 15-year-old girl.
The court heard that Still, aged 38 and recognized as a dance champion, had engaged in inappropriate and illegal activities involving a young girl whose identity is protected by legal restrictions.
Specifically, he admitted to requesting the girl to send him sexual or erotic images of herself.
These exchanges were not casual; Still paid the girl into her bank account in return for the explicit images, which constitutes a serious breach of legal and moral boundaries.
In addition to these allegations, Still pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual activity with a child, further underscoring the gravity of the charges against him.
The prosecution had also brought four other charges, including making and possessing indecent images of a child and engaging in sexual communications with a minor.
However, the Crown Prosecution Service agreed to drop these additional charges, possibly due to the evidence presented or other legal considerations.
Originally, Still was scheduled to be sentenced on the same day as his guilty plea, Monday, November 13.
However, due to a procedural error where the case was mistakenly classified as a trial preparation hearing rather than a sentencing hearing, the proceedings were delayed.
Instead of immediate sentencing, Still was re-arraigned, and his sentencing has now been postponed to December 19, to be held at Reading Crown Court.
During the period leading up to his sentencing, Still remains on bail under strict conditions.
He is prohibited from entering Vibez Dance Studio during its operating hours, a restriction that aims to prevent any contact with the location associated with his professional activities.
Additionally, he is confined to his residence in Louden Square, Earley, and is not permitted to be in the company of any child under the age of 18 unless accompanied by an adult.
These conditions are part of the court’s efforts to ensure public safety and prevent any further misconduct while the legal process continues.
