RICHARD HALL-TRAFFORD AND HIS REPEATED SEX OFFENCES IN NORTHAMPTONSHIRE
A man with a troubling history of sexual misconduct has once again been sentenced to prison after demonstrating a persistent pattern of dangerous behavior towards women in Northamptonshire.Richard Enderby Hall-Trafford, aged 24, has been involved in multiple incidents that have raised serious concerns about his conduct and the safety of women in the area.
Last year, he was sentenced to 34 weeks in prison after admitting to several serious offenses, including sexually assaulting two women, flashing at a jogger, and performing a sex act in public in Corby.
These actions prompted magistrates to impose a strict sexual harm prevention order, which prohibited him from approaching, touching, or attempting to engage with any unknown females for a period of five years, reflecting the severity of his previous behavior.
Despite this, Hall-Trafford’s pattern of offending did not cease.
On May 23, just a few months after his release from prison, he committed another sexual assault on a woman in Spencer Street, Burton Latimer.
During this incident, he touched his victim inappropriately, breaching the conditions of his previous order.
He admitted to the sexual assault and the breach in court, leading to his sentencing.
The court sentenced him to an additional 18 weeks in prison for the assault.
Furthermore, because he failed to meet the supervision requirements following his earlier release, an extra two weeks were added to his sentence.
This brought the total incarceration period to 20 weeks, as authorities deemed his risk to the public, particularly to women, to be 'unmanageable.' A spokesperson from Northamptonshire Police expressed their satisfaction with the outcome, emphasizing the importance of removing individuals like Hall-Trafford from the community.
The police representative stated, "We are pleased to see Richard Hall-Trafford given time behind bars as he has repeatedly proven that he is a danger to women.
Everyone in this world deserves the right to go about their business without fear of being approached inappropriately, and Hall-Trafford has continuously threatened that right.
Northamptonshire Police is committed to taking action against sex offenders, and we hope that Hall-Trafford’s conviction demonstrates that commitment." As part of his sentencing, Hall-Trafford, who resides on Dumble Close in Corby, will be placed on the sex offender register for seven years.
He is also legally prohibited from contacting his most recent victim due to a restraining order.
Additionally, he has been ordered to pay £200 in compensation to his victim, along with court costs of £145 and a surcharge of £128 to support victim services.
This case underscores the ongoing efforts of Northamptonshire authorities to protect the community from repeat offenders and highlights the serious consequences faced by those who breach court orders and commit sexual offenses.
