A 46-year-old man has received a one-year prison sentence after admitting to several domestic abuse charges.

On March 8, 2024, Daniel Tweed, formerly living on Chickerell Road in Weymouth, carried out a brutal assault on his partner at their residence in Northampton.

During the incident, Tweed struck her multiple times, pulled her by the hair, kicked her, and stamped on her.

The victim was transported to hospital, and Tweed was detained by Northamptonshire Police officers.

He was later charged with assault, attempted criminal damage, and failing to surrender to police or court bail as scheduled.

Tweed admitted guilt to all three offences in Northampton Crown Court on June 11, resulting in a one-year custodial sentence.

Northampton Response’s lead investigator, PC Nick Lyczkowski, praised the victim’s bravery and support in the investigation, stating: “Thanks to her courage, Tweed is now imprisoned.
