RICHARD BORTHWICK FROM KELSO BACK IN COURT FOR ADMITTING TO SECOND CHILD SEX OFFENCE

Richard Borthwick had previously pleaded guilty to three charges of sending indecent images of himself and sexual communications to youngsters from his home in Sydenham Court, Kelso, between December 2023 and March 2024.
He also admitted possession of indecent photos of children, distributing indecent images of youngsters, and possessing an extreme pornographic image featuring bestiality.
Borthwick has now pleaded guilty to a second indictment at Jedburgh Sheriff Court which includes offences of communicating indecently with a child, possession of indecent images of children, and breaches of bail.
Sentence has been deferred for the production of background reports until December 8 at Selkirk Sheriff Court, and Borthwick was remanded in custody in both cases.
