Raymond Martin, a 46-year-old resident of Two Locks Road in Cwmbran, found himself at the center of a serious criminal investigation after police uncovered disturbing digital content on his device. The investigation was initiated following a tip-off from the National Crime Agency, which led authorities to scrutinize Martin's electronic devices for illicit material.

During a court hearing at Newport Crown Court on January 28, prosecutors revealed the disturbing nature of the content discovered on Martin’s phone. Among the images classified as category A, there was a particularly horrific animation depicting a young girl, estimated to be between three and six years old, being subjected to oral rape by an adult male. The court was shown detailed descriptions of the animation, with Ms. Hardy, the prosecuting attorney, explaining that the scene involved the female child's head being pushed onto the male's genitalia, with the adult's hand also involved in the act.

In addition to the most severe category A images, authorities also found category C material, which included animated depictions of two young girls in their bedrooms exposing their breasts and vaginas. These images further underscored the severity of the material stored on Martin’s device and the disturbing nature of his online activity.

Following the evidence presented, Raymond Martin was sentenced to nine months in prison. However, the sentence was suspended for a period of 18 months, meaning he would not serve time unless he committed further offenses within that period. The court also imposed several additional requirements, including 150 hours of unpaid community work and the completion of a 15-day rehabilitation activity program aimed at addressing his behavior.

Furthermore, Martin was ordered to register as a sex offender for the next decade, a measure designed to monitor and restrict his activities to protect the community. He was also placed under a sexual harm prevention order that will remain in effect until 2035, restricting his access to certain online content and activities. In addition to these measures, Martin was required to pay a surcharge of £156 and cover court costs amounting to £150.
