February 2018 Paedophile jailed after abusing children A paedophile has been jailed after carrying out a campaign of abuse against young children Raymond Latcham, 72 of Scotswood, Newcastle upon Tyne appeared at Newcastle Crown Court where he was found guilty of: Rape of a child aged under 13 Sexual assault of a child under 13 Causing or inciting a child aged under 13 to engage in sexual activity The court was told that Latcham abused one female child when she was aged between four and nine years old.  The pervert would manipulate the child into silence by buying her toys and giving her small amounts of money The judge sentenced Latcham to 14 years imprisonment and ordered him to register as a sex offender for life
