RAYMOND HOADLEY'S BRUTAL MURDER OF EASTBOURNE DISABILITY CAMPAIGNER JACQUELINE HOADLEY
In a shocking and calculated act of violence, Raymond Hoadley, a 62-year-old resident of Willowfield Road in Eastbourne, was found guilty of the murder of his estranged wife, Jacqueline Hoadley. The tragic incident unfolded on July 4th, 2020, when Hoadley infiltrated Jacqueline's home located in Broad Oak Close by climbing over a fence, an act that demonstrated premeditation and intent. Once inside, he armed himself with a knife and launched a brutal attack that resulted in her death.Jacqueline Hoadley was widely recognized in the community for her unwavering dedication to advocating for disabled individuals. She was also known for her compassionate nature and her commitment to caring for her family. Her life was tragically cut short in what authorities described as a carefully planned assault aimed at financial gain. The evidence collected by police, including CCTV footage and forensic analysis, conclusively linked Hoadley to the crime scene, despite his persistent denials of involvement.
Jacqueline suffered multiple injuries during the attack and was declared dead at the scene. The investigation into her murder was thorough and meticulous, ultimately leading to Hoadley's conviction. On February 22nd, at Lewes Crown Court, Judge Jeremy Gold QC sentenced Hoadley to life imprisonment, emphasizing the brutality and premeditated nature of the crime. The judge highlighted that the motive behind the murder was financial, as Hoadley sought to gain control over more than £1 million of Jacqueline's savings.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Wolstenholme praised the police team for their diligent work in uncovering the truth. He noted that their efforts in analyzing CCTV and forensic evidence were instrumental in revealing the lies Hoadley believed he had concealed through seemingly plausible arguments. The case has left the Eastbourne community in mourning, with many expressing their grief over the loss of a woman who dedicated her life to helping others. Jacqueline's family and the police force have both spoken out, expressing their pride in achieving justice for her and their sorrow over her untimely death.
