RAMON ROBINSON FROM LEYLAND SENTENCED TO SEVEN YEARS FOR DISTRIBUTING CHILD ABUSE IMAGES
In a serious case that has shocked the community of Leyland, a 65-year-old man named Ramon Robinson has been handed a lengthy prison sentence after admitting to the distribution of a significant amount of indecent images involving children. The offences took place over a brief but disturbing period in February of this year, and the case was heard at Preston Crown Court.Robinson, who resides at Fossdale Moss in Leyland, pleaded guilty to the possession and distribution of a total of 338 images and videos depicting child abuse. These materials were classified as Category A, indicating the most severe level of illegal content under the law. The court was informed that these images and videos were circulated among other individuals, highlighting the extent of his involvement in the distribution network.
Further charges against Robinson included the distribution of an additional 61 images and videos categorized as Category B, along with 555 other images and videos classified as Category C. These categories reflect the increasing severity and explicitness of the content involved. Robinson admitted to these charges last month during proceedings at Preston Magistrates’ Court. However, the magistrates determined that their jurisdiction was insufficient to impose a sentence, and therefore, the case was transferred to the higher court for sentencing.
Judge Robert Altham presided over the case at Preston Crown Court. After considering the evidence and the gravity of the offences, he sentenced Robinson to a total of seven years in prison. The sentence was structured with consecutive terms of two years and four months for each of the main charges, reflecting the seriousness of the crimes committed. This ruling underscores the legal system’s firm stance against the distribution of child abuse images and the importance of protecting vulnerable victims from exploitation and harm.
