QUASER ABAS FROM HULL SENTENCED TO 12 YEARS FOR RAPE AND PREGNANT TEENAGER

In a harrowing case that has shocked the community of Hull, a 37-year-old man named Quaser Abas has been convicted of heinous sexual assault and sentenced to a lengthy prison term.

The case came to light after a teenage girl from Hull, who was subjected to abuse over a brief but traumatic period, discovered she was pregnant during a routine hospital check-up.

The pregnancy was confirmed to be 23 weeks along, and subsequent DNA testing revealed that Abas was the biological father, directly contradicting his earlier claims that the allegations were 'fabricated.' Abas faced a five-day trial at Hull Crown Court, where he was found guilty of rape.

Despite the overwhelming evidence, he maintained his innocence throughout the proceedings, even suggesting that the DNA test was 'contaminated.' He also dismissed the testimonies of the girl and her mother, claiming they were 'fabricated and concocted.' The prosecution presented a powerful victim statement from the girl, who described the profound impact of the assault on her life.

She expressed her feelings of fear and shame, revealing that she was too scared to confide in her mother initially.

She said, 'I didn’t want a baby at this age, I didn’t want it to happen the way it did.

I was scared to tell my mum.

When I found out I was pregnant, I was shocked and scared to tell anyone and was worried about what they might say and think.

I didn’t want the baby, but now it is here, I wouldn’t change it for the world.' Her mother also provided a statement, sharing her concerns about the emotional toll on her daughter.

She expressed her fears that her daughter might resent the child, stating, 'I can’t speak to her about it or speak about what happened.

I thought she was safe.

He’s destroyed our family.

One day, we will have to tell the child what happened.

I try not to think about it because when I do, I feel like I’m going to cry.

I love my grandchild now it’s here, but I can’t think about it because I would resent it.

I didn’t want to be a grandmother in these circumstances.' Judge David Tremberg, presiding over the case, criticized Abas for his continued denial of guilt despite the evidence against him.

The judge highlighted the lack of remorse shown by Abas and condemned his actions, stating, 'You took the opportunity to rape her, having full, unprotected sexual intercourse.

She told you “no,” but you pressed on, and she simply submitted.

In her police interview, she said she had “no words” and was “so scared.” This immature, inexperienced girl did nothing to show sexual interest in you, but you took the opportunity to use her to vent your sexual energy.' The court was informed that the girl did not initially report the assault, but the truth emerged when she was subjected to the routine hospital test that revealed her pregnancy.

The DNA evidence was conclusive, yet Abas continued to deny responsibility, claiming the test was contaminated and that the allegations were false.

Despite his protests, the court sentenced him to 12 years in prison.

The judge emphasized that Abas was a 'serious sex offender' and that he would likely never have the opportunity to commit such crimes again.

As part of his sentence, Abas will serve half of his term in prison and the remaining half on license in the community.

He has also been issued a lifelong sexual harm prevention order, which prohibits any unsupervised contact with female children under the age of 16.

Additionally, a restraining order has been put in place to prevent him from approaching the victim or her family, ensuring their safety moving forward.
