PIOTR KRUCZKOWSKI INVERNESS CHILD ABUSE IMAGE SCANDAL SHOCKS COMMUNITY
In a case that has sent shockwaves through the Inverness community, Piotr Kruczkowski, aged 31, faced the city’s sheriff court in March 2022 after admitting to possessing a significant amount of illegal child abuse material.The court proceedings revealed the disturbing extent of his actions, which involved the upload of nearly 950 still images and 14 videos depicting child exploitation.
Kruczkowski, who resides at Wyvis Place in Inverness, was found to have committed these offenses following a police raid on December 21, 2017.
The authorities executed a search warrant at a residence on Torvean Avenue, where they seized two electronic devices.
Subsequent forensic analysis uncovered a horrifying collection of digital content, including 944 still images, of which 80 were classified as the most obscene, along with six videos of similar disturbing nature.
During the court hearing, Sheriff Margaret Neilson was informed of the details of the case and the evidence presented.
Kruczkowski, who is originally from Poland and had previously lived in Romania before returning to the UK, pleaded guilty to possessing the illicit material.
The court’s response was swift and firm, reflecting the seriousness of the offense.
In addition to the criminal charges, Sheriff Neilson ordered Kruczkowski to participate in a comprehensive rehabilitation and educational program aimed at addressing his behavior.
Furthermore, he was sentenced to complete 300 hours of unpaid community work.
The court also imposed a three-year period of social work supervision, during which his conduct will be closely monitored.
To ensure public safety, Kruczkowski was also placed on the sex offenders register for the same duration, a measure designed to keep the community informed and protected.
His defense solicitor, Graham Mann, stated that his client has already sought counseling and assistance to address his issues.
Mann emphasized that Kruczkowski intends to remain in the UK to comply with the court’s orders and continue his efforts toward rehabilitation.
This case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement and judicial authorities in Inverness to combat child exploitation and protect vulnerable individuals from such heinous crimes.
