SALFORD PAEDOPHILE PHILIP STONE JAILED AGAIN FOR CHILD ABUSE PLOTS
In August 2019, a disturbing case emerged involving Philip Stone, a 49-year-old man from Salford, who was found to have engaged in highly inappropriate and illegal online communications with an undercover police officer. The investigation revealed that Stone believed he was conversing with another individual who shared his perverted interests, under the alias 'Paedo Dad,' on a chat platform.Over the course of approximately a month, Stone initiated contact with this fictitious persona, under a false name, and the conversations quickly turned to discussions about abusing children. The conversations specifically involved the supposed daughters of 'Paedo Dad,' who claimed to be 8 and 10 years old. Stone openly discussed his sexual interests in young children, expressing that he had a 'good addiction' to images of child abuse and admitted to a preference for 'extreme' material.
During their exchanges, 'Paedo Dad' mentioned that his daughters were aged eight and ten, prompting Stone to make a chilling remark: 'at that age, you do what you want and get away with it.' The conversation took a darker turn as Stone expressed a desire to meet with 'Paedo Dad' and visit his home, after they had discussed his 'sick pleasure' and how the fictitious girls had kept quiet despite being abused. However, Stone never followed through with the meeting, and law enforcement authorities arrested him in June of the same year.
At Manchester Crown Court, Philip Stone pleaded guilty to a charge of arranging or facilitating the commission of a child sexual offence. The court sentenced him to four years in prison, with an extended license period intended to ensure public safety. This marked the second time Stone had been imprisoned for similar offences. His previous conviction in 2013 involved him turning himself in to police after planning to abuse two children and possessing indecent images. He was released from prison in 2016 and was still on licence at the time of the latest offences.
Prosecutor Gavin Howie detailed that Stone's online interactions with the undercover officer began in May of this year. The conversation was initiated when the 'dad' expressed willingness to allow others with similar fantasies to abuse his children. Stone responded by indicating he was seeking 'decent chat with our types,' revealing his sexual interest in minors. He further stated that he had a 'good addiction' to young people and believed that with careful planning and cover-up, he could carry out his desires without detection.
Following a phone call with the undercover officer, arrangements were made to meet in a public place before proceeding to Stone's residence. However, Stone later sent a message apologizing and stating he would not be attending the meeting. Authorities also imposed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order on Stone, which prohibits him from using the internet and making contact with children, aiming to prevent any further harm or illegal activity.
