GILLINGHAM RAPIST SENTENCED TO LIFE FOR HORRIFIC KNIFE ATTACK
Gillingham rapist who subjected a woman to a horrifying ordeal at knifepoint has been sentenced to life in prison.
Philip Bradley, 53, of Frazier Street, Southwark, was found guilty at Maidstone Crown Court of multiple charges including rape, attempted kidnap, making a threat to kill, having a bladed article, assault, and damaging property.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 12 years before he can be considered for parole.
The investigation revealed that Bradley visited his victim at her home unexpectedly on July 10, 2015, and attacked her, holding a knife to her throat.
He returned to her residence on August 11, 2015, forced his way inside, assaulted a friend present, and threatened the victim again with a knife before leaving.
Bradley was arrested a few hours later.
Detective Constable Rebecca Saunders from Kent Police described the attack as a 'horrifying ordeal at knifepoint' and praised the victim's courage.
The court's sentence reflects the danger Bradley poses.
