SWINDON NURSE JAILED FOR FILMING MEN AND KIDS IN ASDA TOILET
A registered nurse named Pheddie Delos Reyes has been permanently struck off the nursing register after a conviction for filming men and children through a hole in the cubicle wall at an Asda store in Swindon.According to a tribunal panel judgment, Wiltshire Police responded to a report on July 18, 2023, from a customer who had observed he was being filmed while urinating.
Officers arrested Delos Reyes before informing the Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust where he was employed.
CCTV footage revealed that Delos Reyes entered the men's toilets at around 6 pm and stayed nearly three hours, during which approximately fifty males, both adults and children, used the toilet.
The urinals were out of order, and only one cubicle was available—apart from the one he occupied.
Police found multiple videos on his phone, including recordings of men urinating through a hole in the wall and footage of a child urinating.
Delos Reyes pleaded guilty to two counts of voyeurism and one count of making an indecent image of a child at Swindon Magistrates’ Court.
He was given a suspended jail sentence last June.
The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) panel determined his fitness to practise was impaired due to the severity of his convictions.
They stated that his actions demonstrated significant attitudinal concerns that could pose future risks to patients.
Although Delos Reyes showed some remorse, he had limited understanding of the impact of his conduct.
The panel described his behavior as a serious breach of professional standards and concluded it was incompatible with remaining on the nursing register, resulting in an 18-month interim suspension to allow for an appeal.
