PETER WRIGHT'S SHOCKING CRIMES IN LIVERPOOL: TOP CHEF'S DARK SECRET REVEALED
A prominent chef from Liverpool, Peter Wright, faced the harsh reality of justice after being convicted of heinous sexual offenses involving young girls. The courtroom was filled with emotional testimonies from the victims, revealing the profound and lasting impact of his actions.
Wright, who has built a reputation working in some of Liverpool’s most prestigious restaurants and has been hired to cater for private clients abroad, was accused of poisoning the lives of two young girls through his predatory behavior.
Despite the gravity of his crimes, Wright displayed a disturbing lack of remorse, often smirking and shaking his head as the court proceedings unfolded.
At one point, he even dismissed the victims’ statements with a casual “I don’t think so,” prompting a reprimand from the judge.
The trial at Liverpool Crown Court detailed how Wright, then just a juvenile himself at the time, repeatedly targeted the girls when they were as young as 12 years old during the early 2000s.
The court heard that his abuse was not limited to sexual assault; he also attempted to rape one of the victims on a separate occasion, further illustrating the severity of his misconduct.
Prosecutor Natalie Cornwall read out statements from the victims, painting a heartbreaking picture of the long-term trauma inflicted by Wright.
One victim described suffering from nightmares and bedwetting, expressing her despair over her childhood being irreparably damaged.
“I don’t feel like I have a normal childhood,” she said, adding, “There is a huge void that can never be filled.
It’s hard to accept my life is never going to be normal because of what he did to me.” The second victim revealed she had resorted to self-harm and had attempted to take her own life, overwhelmed by the pain and pressure caused by Wright’s abuse.
She explained, “I felt like I was overwhelmed with pressure and pain.
I withdrew more and more and distanced myself from everybody.
It feels like the poison he has caused is never ending.
He has an utter disregard for the devastation he had caused — he does not seem to care.” Throughout the proceedings, Wright appeared indifferent, often shaking his head and smiling, which drew criticism from the court.
His defense lawyer, Andrew Jebb, highlighted Wright’s background, emphasizing his talents as a chef and his work in esteemed Liverpool establishments.
Jebb argued that Wright, who is 6 feet 7 inches tall, had also traveled to Ireland to serve private dining clients and had demonstrated positive qualities in his life.
“He himself was a child at the time of the offences,” Jebb stated.
“He is a very talented chef.
He has worked here in Liverpool for some very esteemed establishments.
He has travelled on a private client basis to Ireland to provide private dining.
There are very positive aspects to this defendant.
Obviously what he did as a teenager was appalling behavior and he is about to be punished for it.
He is now a positive, hard-working member of society.” Following a jury trial, Wright was found guilty of attempted rape and eight counts of sexual assault.
He appeared via video link from HMP Liverpool to hear his sentence, which was handed down by Judge Anil Murray.
Wright was sentenced to three and a half years in prison.
The judge acknowledged Wright’s youth at the time of the offenses, noting his immaturity and recent positive traits such as a good work record and caring for his brother during illness.
However, he also emphasized Wright’s failure to accept responsibility and his lack of remorse, as evidenced by his behavior during the sentencing.
In addition to his prison sentence, Wright was ordered to register as a sex offender indefinitely.
A lifelong restraining order was also imposed, prohibiting him from making any contact with his victims, ensuring their ongoing protection from further harm.
