September 2015 Paedophile jailed for sexually abusing young boy A man convicted of sexual offences against a young boy was on Friday jailed for 12 years at Lincoln Crown Court. Peter Woods began committing offences against the boy in the late 1980s and went on to “lavish attention” on him. Judge John Pini QC, passing sentence, told Woods “It is quite clear to me that over a period of time you groomed him and built up a friendship in order to abuse him. “This was a prolonged abuse of a young impressionable teenager who you flattered in order to sexually gratify yourself. You gave no thought to the long-term harm you were doing. You only thought of yourself. It all amounts to a serious course of conduct.” The court was told that the victim suffered serious psychological damage as a result of what happened to him. Woods, 74, of Mill Lane, Sutterton, was found guilty of four charges of indecent assault and two other serious sexual offences. He denied the charges.
