Peter Ross

Croydon Tadworth Sexual Abuser

November 2013 Paedophile who ‘acted out fantasies’ with young girls jailed for four years A married paedophile who preyed on young girls to act out his sexual fantasies has been jailed for four years.  Father-of-two Peter Ross, 56, trawled the Internet in search of sexual pictures of children before assaulting two girls, both aged under 13, at his home in Croydon. He lured one of the girls, aged 12 at the time the abuse started, into playing a game called in which she would sit on his lap. He would then touch her genitals. He partially undressed the second girl, aged nine at the time, pulling down her jeans and knickers before sexually touching her. The offences took place between 2003 and 2005. The older victim, now 20, initially reported the abuse in 2006 and dropped her claims because she did not feel the police believed her and did not want to endure a court case.  When the allegations were first made, Ross and his family abandoned their home in Croydon so quickly they left the doors open. Detectives reopened the investigation into Ross last year when the younger victim also reported the abuse. When police arrested Ross at his new home in Beech Drive, Tadworth, in July 2012 they seized his computer and found it had been used “for years” to seek out indecent images of children. Prosecutor Tom Wilkins told Ross: “You have a long-standing sexual interest in children which you indulged in fantasies on line and, as we have heard with these two girls, you sometimes put into practice.” During the trial, Ross claimed the victims had fabricated the allegations to make money. He told the court one of the girls had seen him naked only because he had a sweat problem not meant he did not wear pyjamas. A jury convicted Ross of three indecent assaults, two against the older victim and one against the younger girl, on October 24. They also found him guilty of six counts of making indecent photographs of children. He was found not guilty penetrating the older victim’s genitals with his hands. Justice Peter Gower QC jailed Ross for two years for assaulting each girl, with the sentences run consecutively. He handed him a three-month jail term, to run concurrently, for making indecent photographs of children. October 2013 Croydon paedophile guilty of ‘acting out sexual fantasies’ with young girls A paedophile accused of acting out his sexual fantasies with children has been convicted of indecently assaulting two young girls. Father-of-two Peter Ross, 56, trawled the Internet in search of sexual pictures of children before preying on two girls, both aged under 13, at his home in Croydon. Ross, who is married, abused a nine-year-old and and 12-year-old girl who visited his house separately between 2003 and 2005.  Ross persuaded the older girl play a “game” which meant she would to sit on his lap. He would then rub her genitals.  He partially undressed the younger girl, pulling down his jeans and knickers, before sexually touching her. When the older victim reported the abuse to police in 2006, Ross and his family abandoned their home so quickly they left the doors open. The girl initially dropped the allegations as she did not think police believed her, but detectives reopened the investigation into Ross when the younger victim reported being abused last year. When police arrested Mr Ross at his home in Beech Drive, Tadworth, in July 2012 they seized his computer and found it had been used “for years” to seek out indecent images of children. During a trial at Croydon Crown Court, which began last week, prosecutor Tom Wilkins told Ross: “You have a long-standing sexual interest in children which you indulged in fantasies on line and, as we have heard with these two girls, you sometimes put into practice.” After two days of deliberations, a jury his afternoon convicted Ross of three indecent assaults, two against the older victim and one against the younger girl. They also found him guilty of six counts of making indecent photographs of children. Ross was found not guilty penetrating the older victim’s genitals with his hands.  He was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on November 8.
