PERTH MAN JAILED FOR ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR CAUGHT ON SECRET RECORDING
A man named Peter Rocky Dunkley, aged 58, spent a night in police custody after his girlfriend secretly recorded him abusing her verbally for 44 minutes.
Wieslawa Walisiewicz, the victim, provided the recording to the authorities.
Dunkley appeared in Perth Sheriff Court on a Thursday, admitting to threatening and abusive behavior within Ms Walisiewicz's residence on a Monday.
According to the prosecution, Ms Walisiewicz, who has basic English skills and is Polish, was initially refused entry by Dunkley when he arrived intoxicated, but she eventually allowed him in.
She recorded the incident because she was aware of his abusive conduct.
During the court proceedings, his solicitor stated that Dunkley's business, a research and development company, was struggling, and explained that Dunkley had been rejected due to his drunken behavior.
Sheriff William Wood sentenced Dunkley to perform 60 hours of unpaid work.
