PETER MULLIGAN FROM COWDENBEATH SENTENCED FOR RAPE IN ST ANDREWS BEACH INCIDENT
A man named Peter Mulligan, aged 27, has been sentenced to five years in prison after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl on a beach near St Andrews.
The incident occurred on 23 April last year, when Mulligan, who resides in Torbeith Gardens, Cowdenbeath, approached the young teenager and engaged her in conversation.
According to court proceedings, Mulligan initially picked up the girl in St Andrews and falsely claimed to be older than he actually was.
He then insisted that she had consented to sexual activity, asserting that her accusations of rape were merely a result of her being upset after he drove away from the scene.
