MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO RAPING 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL
A paedophile, who is registered as a sex offender, has admitted to raping and indecently assaulting a 14-year-old girl.Peter Maddox, 39, from Bradley Lane, Eccleston, was arrested on June 12 after police were alerted to an incident in Fox Lane, Leyland.He appeared at Preston Crown Court on Tuesday and was detained for sentencing on October 11.Detective Inspector Neil Hunter, head of the Public Protection Unit, described Maddox as a dangerous paedophile who took advantage of a young girl using his greater strength to overpower her for sexual gratification.During the court proceedings, it was stated that "once he had gained control over her, he subjected her to degrading and serious sexual abuse, which she was powerless to resist."The investigation was described as difficult, involving vulnerable victims and witnesses requiring significant support.
The girl’s identity is protected for legal reasons.
