PETER KENDAL FROM WREXHAM AND RYHL SENTENCED FOR ONLINE CHILD SEX OFFENSES IN CAERNARFON

In a serious case that highlights the dangers of online predators, 61-year-old Peter Kendal, a man originally from Wrexham but now residing in Rhyl, was brought before Caernarfon Crown Court to face charges related to attempting to incite a child into sexual activity. The court proceedings revealed disturbing details about Kendal's actions, which ultimately led to his imprisonment for a period of 12 months.

The case dates back to April 2018 when Kendal was found to have engaged in online conversations with individuals he believed to be underage girls. During these interactions, Kendal attempted to persuade the girls to participate in sexual acts, both penetrative and non-penetrative. It was later established that Kendal thought he was communicating with children aged 12 and 13, but in reality, he was speaking with adults who had reported his behavior to the authorities.

Following his arrest, Kendal appeared at Mold Crown Court where he admitted to five separate charges. These charges included attempting to incite minors to engage in sexual acts and attempting to communicate sexually with a girl under the age of 16. His actions prompted immediate legal action, and he was subsequently placed on the sex offenders' register. The court was informed that Kendal's behavior was serious enough to warrant strict supervision and monitoring.

Judge Huw Rees presided over the case and emphasized the importance of safeguarding children from online predators. He ordered Kendal to sign the sex offenders' register and scheduled his sentencing for the following month. The judge acknowledged Kendal's decision to plead guilty, which was seen as a positive step and would likely result in a reduced sentence. However, the court made it clear that Kendal would face strict restrictions, including a prohibition on any unsupervised contact with children under 18 years old.

Furthermore, Kendal was required to cooperate fully with police authorities. He must make himself available for regular checks and allow access to any electronic devices capable of connecting to the internet. These measures are intended to prevent any further attempts to contact or exploit minors and to ensure that Kendal remains under close supervision during his period of sentence and beyond.
