PETER HOULTON FROM LOUGHBOROUGH JAILED FOR SEX OFFENCES INVOLVING CHILDREN AND ONLINE ABUSE

In a case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Loughborough, Peter Houlton has been sentenced to two years in prison for a series of serious sex offences. The sentencing took place yesterday at Leicester Crown Court, bringing closure to a case that involved multiple victims and a breach of trust that has left many residents deeply disturbed.

Houlton, whose address is listed as Patterdale Drive, Loughborough, had previously pleaded guilty during an earlier hearing to five counts of indecent assault, engaging in sexual activity with a minor, and acts of indecency involving a child. The court's decision to impose a two-year sentence reflects the gravity of these offences and the harm caused to the victims.

Authorities have released an image of Peter Houlton in an effort to identify any additional victims or witnesses who may have information relevant to the case. Law enforcement officials are actively appealing to the public for assistance, emphasizing that there may be others who have yet to come forward.

The offences took place against three children, aged between 12 and 16 years old. These incidents occurred during the period when Houlton was employed as an adult instructor with the Army Cadet Force, which operates in both Shepshed and Loughborough. The nature of his contact with the victims extended beyond physical encounters, as Houlton also engaged with them through internet chat rooms, where he communicated in a sexual manner, further complicating the case and highlighting the dangers of online interactions.

Detective Constable Beverley commented on the case, stating, “Houlton was in a position of trust and totally abused that for his own gain. The victims have shown great courage throughout this process.” She also urged anyone who might have information or who was a victim to come forward, noting, “Although we have already spoken to many of the youngsters that attended the cadets whilst Houlton worked there, we are conscious of the fact there may be some who haven’t come forward.
