Peter Allan

Stockbury Sexual Abuser

June 2017 Pervert jailed after arranging to meet boy in Mote Park for sex A pervert who went to meet a 13-year-old boy for sex only to find he had been led into a trap by a paedophile vigilante group has been jailed for over three years. Peter Allan travelled to Mote Park in Maidstone from his home at Stockbury with four cans of lager, a pornographic DVD and mobile phones to give to the teenager. But when he arrived he was confronted by members of The Hunted One, who carried out the sting. The police were called and Allan was arrested. Jailing the 63-year-old for three years and four months, a judge told him: “You clearly intended real sex. I  have no doubt had there been a real male child you would have gone through with this.” Prosecutor Donna East said a member of The Hunted One created a profile on the gay dating site Grindr of a boy called Sam with an image purporting to be him. Allan messaged him asking if he liked mature men. Despite being told by “Sam” he was 13, Allan sent explicit messages and a photo of his manhood and a screen shot of sex acts. Sam indicated he lived with foster parents and would be home alone that weekend. He said he had no webcam and Allan offered to provide him with a camera, pornography, mobile phone and alcohol. Arrangements were made to meet at the leisure centre car park. Allan was confronted when he went there in his mobility car on April 1. The sting was filmed and shown online. The video has since been viewed over 152,000 times. After his arrest Allan said he had become obsessed with porn to alleviate sexual tension which made him “bi-curious” to meet younger men or “twinks” He claimed he did not intend to go through with any sexual contact and planned to just deliver the four cans of Fosters, DVD and mobile phones and leave. He added he was drunk when he sent the messages and should have said goodbye when “Sam” said he was 13. “He said he despised paedophiles and made a mistake,” Miss East told Maidstone Crown Court. “He knew what he had done was wrong.” Allan, of Cedar Gardens, Stockbury, admitted attempting to arrange or facilitate the commission of a child sex offence. The court heard he could not return to his home as he had been burgled and his car had been damaged as a result of the offence. Allan’s name will appear on the sex offenders’ register and a sexual harm prevention order was made, both indefinitely. Judge Charles Macdonald QC told him: “You took alcohol to facilitate the offence. It is said there is remorse. This is significantly tempered by incite minimisation and victim blaming.” The judge said he was unable to pass an extended sentence but took into account the need for the public to be protected. May 2017 Disabled man caught by ‘paedophile hunters’ after trying to meet boy, 13, off Grindr A disabled pervert was caught trying to meet a 13-year-old boy at a park after contacting him on Grindr.  Peter Allan, 62, of Cedar Gardens, Stockbury was publicly humiliated after a paedophile vigilante group caught him waiting for the non-existent child and live-streamed the whole thing on Facebook. The multiple sclerosis sufferer had got in touch with the youngster on the gay dating app and arranged to meet him at Mote Park in Maidstone, Kent. But when he showed up, he was confronted by members of the anti-paedophile collective, The Hunted One, who had set up a bogus profile on the dating site. Allan was arrested on the evening of April 1 after the confrontation was recorded. The 15-minute footage showed police officers then arriving and arresting him. Allan admitted arranging or facilitating the commission of a child sex offence between March 30 and April 1 via video link from Elmley Prison at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday. Martin Yale, prosecuting said: ‘This was a case which originated through a group of civilians out to catch paedophiles. ‘They set up a profile on Grindr purporting to be a 13-year-old boy. Various messages and indecent images were exchanged and arrangements were made to meet this defendant. ‘He turned up at the meeting and was detained and arrested.’ James Warren, defending, said there had been a ‘significant impact’ on Allan as a result of the live broadcasting of his arrest and he could not return to his home. The sheltered housing bungalows where he lived had been burgled and vandalised, causing distress for his elderly neighbours. Mr Warren added: ‘He has no previous convictions and suffers from MS and is in a wheelchair. His condition has deteriorated while in custody. ‘He is a very lonely gentleman and has no friends – especially now, as this was streamed live when he was detained. ‘His mobility car was vandalised. This has had significant impact. He cannot go back there.’ Allan was remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced on June 5.
