PETER ALAN WATCH SENTENCED IN HAMPSHIRE FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES
The family of Peter Alan Watch, a convicted sex offender from Hampshire, has announced they will dedicate all their resources to attempt to clear his name.
Peter Watch, 26, was sentenced to 12 years in prison at Winchester Crown Court after being convicted of rape, sexual assault, two counts of assault, and threatening violence.
He resides on Amesbury Road.
During the trial, Watch was accused of assaulting women he connected with through dating websites and engaging in obscene sexual acts.
He maintained his innocence regarding all charges, but the court sentenced him to a 12-year term with an additional four-year extended license period.
This means he must serve at least eight years before parole eligibility.
Following the sentencing, Watch’s father, William, said, "I will spend every penny I have to help him.
It’s all down to that Jimmy Savile, courts are now too quick to listen to these accusations and innocent people like my son are suffering.
He’s no angel, but this isn’t fair on my boy." William Watch further described the emotional and physical strain the case has placed on the family, stating, "The stress on me and my wife has been huge.
I’m so run down, I’ve not been able to work, and what people do not realize is we’ve got the sentence as well as Peter." Detective Constable Paul Barry, the lead investigator, commented, "This conviction follows a protracted inquiry involving Peter Watch, who met three women via dating websites and committed serious sexual offences against them, including rape.
Hampshire Police will actively investigate all reports of sexual and physical abuse, especially those initiated through the internet."
