WOMAN FACES POSSIBLE LIFETIME BAN OVER DOG ABANDONMENT
An incident involving a woman’s apparent neglect has left many puzzled, with pet owners describing her actions as baffling.It is alleged that Paula Blackwood, who owns an American Akita named Carla, left her in extreme heat 35°C and chained to a lamppost while she traveled to Egypt for a week.
The 47-year-old is under investigation for abandoning her pet and could face a lifelong restriction on owning animals.
A day prior to her trip, Blackwood reportedly shared a message online, asking someone to take her dog due to its severe separation anxiety.
Instead of seeking help, she is believed to have left Carla chained outside a veterinary clinic, which is considered an act of cruelty.
According to reports from the Daily Star, Carla managed to slip free from her harness in her frightened state.
She then ran onto the road and was rescued by bystanders.
The Wiltshire Council’s Public Protection Service has taken the dog into their custody, as noted by Where Is the Buzz?.
It is anticipated that Blackwood will face animal cruelty charges upon her return to the UK.
