SALISBURY MAN SENTENCED FOR THREATENING TO KILL WOMAN AND UNBORN CHILD
A man identified as Dean Hewitt, aged 35, of Tidworth Road, Collingbourne Ducis, was brought before Salisbury Crown Court on May 14.
He was sentenced to nine months in prison, though the term was suspended for two years.
The offences stem from messages Hewitt sent between December 30 and 31, 2023, in which he threatened to kill a woman and her unborn child amid a cocaine and alcohol-fueled binge.
The court heard that Hewitt pleaded guilty to malicious communication and threats to kill.
In addition to the suspended prison sentence, Hewitt was ordered to perform 100 hours of unpaid work and attend 12 sessions with Turning Point.
PC Nic Blake commented on the case, emphasizing the seriousness of threats of violence towards women and encouraging victims to seek help and report incidents.
