MUDDY WHEELS & TURNIP CHATS: SAFEGUARDING TEAM’S STING ENDS IN ARREST FOR WALKDEN MAN.
A man named Paul Whittleworth was arrested on 12 November 2025 after a safeguarding operation carried out by Red Rose UK.
According to the organisation, their team engaged with an online account believed to be operated by Mr Whittleworth.
Red Rose UK allege that during these conversations, the individual initiated sexualised dialogue with someone he believed to be a 13-year-old child.
The group state that the individual went on to describe an unusual fantasy involving turnips and vehicles stuck in mud, before escalating the conversation further.
Red Rose UK also report that the individual later sent material of a sexual nature to the decoy profile, prompting immediate safeguarding action.
The group passed their evidence to Greater Manchester Police, who then attended and arrested Mr Whittleworth.
Police enquiries are currently ongoing, and as the case is active, all allegations remain subject to the formal criminal justice process.
Red Rose UK have confirmed they will provide further information when police authorise updates.
Anyone with concerns, or anyone who believes they may have additional information relevant to the investigation, is encouraged to contact police on 101.
