Hanley Sexual Abuser

June 2019 Paedophile hunters snare pervert, 50, after waiting outside his workplace Paedophile hunters have snared a pervert – after lying in wait outside his workplace. They rumbled the 50-year-old in the Midlands. Paul Taylor of Hanley had been chatting to ‘underage girls’ set up by an online group. He invited the girls to pull their knickers down and take pictures. Taylor also tried to meet up with them for sex But the ‘girls’ were decoys set up by the group Guardian Angels. And some of its members then lay in wait for Taylor at his workplace before carrying out a citizen’s arrest and detaining him until police arrived. Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard Staffordshire Police were contacted by ‘self-styled paedophile hunters’ Guardian Angels which had set up two fake profiles on an adult dating site – featuring profile photos of young girls Prosecutor Benjamin Williams said: “In each chat the defendant was very quick to ask for pictures of the ‘girls’, specifying they should show their breast area or vagina. “He invited the ‘girls’ to pull their knickers down and take pictures. “The ‘girls’ reminded the defendant of their purported age, with references made to having to go to school or being worried about their mum walking in.” The court heard one of the profiles purported to be a 15-year-old Liverpool girl called Katy, and another was supposed to be a 13-year-old Macclesfield girl called Chelsea. In both cases, Taylor suggested they meet up and made it clear he wanted to engage in sexual conduct with them. Through the online chats – which took place in December 2017 – the paedophile hunters worked out where delivery driver Taylor worked and went to his workplace. Mr Williams said: “The defendant arrived for work and was placed under citizen’s arrest and the police were called. “The entire conversation was live-streamed to a Facebook page run by Guardian Angels.” Following Taylor’s arrest, police found he had been chatting to a third ‘girl’, said to be aged 14, although this was not claimed as the work of the vigilante group. Taylor, of Lowther Street, Hanley, pleaded guilty to five offences of attempting to cause or incite a child to engage in sexual activity. He further admitted two charges of attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming and possession of an extreme pornographic image. The Honourable Mr Justice Jeremy Baker sentenced Taylor to 20 months in prison. He is also subject to a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order. Mr Justice Baker said: “There’s no real explanation for your conduct, save for a sexual interest in young females. “You pose a high risk of harm to females aged under 16. “The only appropriate punishment is one of immediate imprisonment.”
