PAUL ORD FROM JARROW AND NEWCASTLE SENT BACK TO PRISON FOR ABUSING TEENAGER

In September 2008, Paul Ord, a man with a troubling history of sexual offenses, was once again taken into custody after violating the terms of his parole by targeting a young girl. Ord, who had previously served time for serious sexual misconduct, found himself back behind bars following new allegations involving a minor.

Paul Ord, aged 41 at the time, had a notorious past that included a four-year prison sentence handed down in 2005. During that earlier conviction, he was found guilty of engaging in a disturbing sexual act involving two underage girls aboard a boat at his allotment on Wearside. The details of that incident revealed a sordid scene that shocked the local community and led to his incarceration.

After serving his sentence, Ord was released on parole, but his criminal behavior did not cease. While still under supervision, he established a relationship with a 15-year-old girl, whom he met during a visit to some stables. It was during this period that he continued to pursue inappropriate contact, sending her text messages that indicated a troubling pattern of grooming and manipulation.

The situation escalated when, during a court hearing at Newcastle Crown Court, evidence was presented that Ord had engaged in indecent conduct with the young girl. The court heard that prior to the incident, he had communicated with her through text messages, which served as a precursor to the abuse.

Judge David Hodson, presiding over the case, sentenced Ord to two years in prison. In his remarks, the judge emphasized the seriousness of the offense, noting, “Obviously, there was a degree of pressure and manipulation here. This offence is aggravated by the fact you have a previous conviction from 2005. There has to be a custodial sentence.”

At the time of sentencing, it was confirmed that Ord had admitted to one charge of engaging in sexual activity with a child. His previous residence was listed as Jarrow, but he was currently living on Dunholme Road in Newcastle. The case underscored the ongoing concerns about the safety of minors and the importance of strict legal action against repeat offenders involved in child abuse.
