March 2010 Lampard’s paedo uncle and girl, 13 AN uncle of soccer star Frank Lampard is a paedophile who tried to groom a 13-year-old girl for internet sex. The Chelsea and England player, 33, said he was “disgusted” last night after Paul Lamb, 36, was unmasked as a predatory pervert. Lamb, of Bacup, Lancs, was caught in a police sting. He idolises Lampard and is seen above in an England No8 shirt like his nephew’s. Lamb, whose 61-year-old wife Gwen is the sister of Lampard’s dad, Frank Snr, believed he was “talking” to a girl called Jessica. And even though he knew her age, he urged her to engage in “sexual activity”. But in fact the name was an alias of an undercover cop — and Lamb was hauled into court. His appearance in the dock shocked his family. And a spokesman for midfielder Lampard, who has two daughters aged six and four, said: “He is disgusted by his actions.” Chelsea fan Lamb got a kick out of starting a filthy MSN Messenger conversation with “Jessica,” Burnley Crown Court heard. When told she was 13, he replied: “Wow — you’re young.” He asked if her mum read her “chats” as he tried to discover if she was supervised or monitored while online. Jobless Lamb then asked the schoolgirl if she was a virgin. And he incited her to engage in sex acts during three conversations. After police seized his computer he denied any improper behaviour, claiming the chatroom was for adults. But he later admitted he had done it for sexual gratification and was ashamed. He accepted he initiated the chat and confessed he knew “Jessica” was only 13. Lamb, described in court as “socially isolated”, pleaded guilty to three counts of attempting to cause a child to engage in sexual activity. He was given a suspended one-year prison term and disqualified from working with children for ten years. He was also ordered not to use an internet device unless it displays a site history and is available for inspection by police. Last night a villager in Bacup said: “Everyone knows about Gwen and Paul’s connection to Frank Lampard. “What we didn’t know was that Paul was a paedophile — and we’re sure Frank didn’t either. “He must feel sick about this because he has kids of his own.” Fighting back tears, mum-of-three Gwen said Lamb had met multi-millionaire Lampard “four or five times” since the couple wed almost six years ago. She confirmed they were mourners at the funeral of Lampard’s mother Pat four years ago. Speaking at her home, she added: “This will cause trouble because Frank (Lampard Snr) is my brother and he doesn’t know about it. “None of my family knows about it. We are a really close family and have regular contact. Frank (Jnr) is my nephew and we are very close. “He has children but Paul has never met them.” The aunt is so proud of her connection she posted a photo of Lampard, captioned simply Nephew Frank, on her Friends Reunited page. Lamb has also revealed his adulation for the player, who is set to wed Dancing On Ice host Christine Bleakley this summer. He declared on social website Bebo: “Football is my religion, Stamford Bridge is my church. Chelsea are my heroes especially Lampard.” The spokesman for Lampard said: “Gwen is on his dad’s side and they have no contact with that part of the family — and haven’t for as long as Frank can recall. Frank has never met him. He doesn’t even know his name.”
