PAUL KERR FROM GLENROTHES FACES SEXUAL MISCONDUCT CHARGES AT PJK MMA GYM

A disturbing series of allegations has emerged against Paul Kerr, a gym owner based in Glenrothes, Fife, who was accused of making inappropriate and sexually explicit remarks towards young schoolgirls at his martial arts club, PJK MMA. The case, which spanned over a five-week trial, revealed that Kerr, aged 49, exhibited a blatant lack of shame when discussing sexual topics in the presence of minors, raising serious concerns about the environment at his fitness facility.

During the proceedings at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, a 15-year-old girl described Kerr’s behavior as “sick and disgusting,” recounting that “there wasn’t a day without something sexual coming from him.” The court heard that Kerr targeted girls as young as 14, repeatedly making lewd comments about their bodies to girls aged 16 and 17. These remarks were not isolated incidents but part of a pattern of inappropriate conduct that persisted over a period from February 2017 to August 2018.

One particularly troubling incident involved Kerr lying on a girl’s bed and asking her a crude question in front of her boyfriend during a visit to her home. Such behavior demonstrated a blatant disregard for boundaries and the well-being of the young individuals involved. Kerr, a former soldier and martial arts expert, charged members up to £110 per month for access to his gym, which was supposed to be a place for training and discipline but was marred by allegations of sexual misconduct.

In addition to the sexual comments, Kerr was accused of making a sick gesture after bragging about a relationship with a 17-year-old boy’s mother. The court found him guilty on Tuesday of four charges related to the repeated sexual comments directed at teenagers. However, more than 30 other allegations, including assault, sexual assault, and threatening behavior, were either dropped or found not proven. A charge related to playing Nazi-style music, making Hitler salutes, and wearing clothing with a swastika logo was also dismissed as not proven.

Kerr, who denied all charges, was ordered to register as a sex offender. His sentencing has been deferred, pending further proceedings. The case has raised serious questions about the safety and oversight of youth programs at the PJK MMA gym in Glenrothes, highlighting the importance of safeguarding measures in such environments.
