JAILED FOR 16 MONTHS AFTER BEING CAUGHT WITH 97 INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN

A sex offender, Paul Holmes, was jailed for 16 months after being caught with 97 indecent images of children.

Previously convicted in 2011 for similar offenses, the 69-year-old from Newcastle breached a sexual offences prevention order by using an app to delete his internet history.

Police also found 15 undeclared internet devices at his home.

Despite no other convictions and a military background, Recorder Tom Moran sentenced Holmes, who expressed motivation for rehabilitation, at Newcastle Crown Court.
