June 2007 Walpole man admits indecency with girls A Walpole St Peter man escaped jail on Friday after admitting indecent assault and sexual activity charges against two girls. Paul Harwin (49), formerly of West Drove North, was given an eight-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, by Judge Simon Barham, at Norwich Crown Court on Friday. Harwin was also put on the sex offenders’ register for ten years, and must not work with children for ten years. He was also made the subject of a sex offender’s prevention order, in which he must not be in any home where there are children under 16 without proper supervision, apart from a named individual. Harwin was also sentenced to a 12-month supervision order. At earlier hearings he had admitted indecent assault on a girl under 16 in 2003, and two offences of sexual activity with a different girl under 16 between 2003 and 2004. At a hearing on May 4, Judge Barham had adjourned the case for a psychological report.
