PAUL GOUDIE FROM WATFORD ESCAPES PRISON AFTER SEXUAL ASSAULT ON TEENAGE GIRL
In a case that has drawn significant attention in Watford, a 43-year-old man named Paul Goudie has been spared from imprisonment after admitting to a serious sexual assault involving a young girl. The incident took place in October of 2009, outside a social club located within the town, and has since become a matter of public concern.According to reports, the victim, a 13-year-old girl, was standing outside with her mother when the assault occurred. Goudie approached her from behind and, in a disturbing act, ran his hand up her thighs. The girl later provided a statement to the police, describing how Goudie had touched her inappropriately. CCTV footage captured Goudie at the scene, confirming his presence and actions during the incident. He also admitted to touching the girl’s bottom, further substantiating the allegations against him.
Goudie, who resides on Kingsfield Road in Watford, is known to be under the care of mental health professionals, which was considered during his sentencing. On Friday, at Harrow Crown Court, he was handed a conditional discharge that will last for three years. This means he will not serve time in prison but must adhere to specific conditions set by the court.
Additionally, Goudie is required to sign the sex offenders register for the same period, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities. The court’s decision reflects a complex balance between the seriousness of the offense and Goudie’s mental health status, but it has raised questions among community members about the adequacy of such measures in protecting the public from potential future harm.
