August 2012 Man had more than 8,000 indecent child images on computer A Scunthorpe man found with more than 8,000 indecent images of children on his computer has been given a suspended sentence. Paul Frost, of Elm Grove, had his computer seized after intelligence led police to his door, Grimsby Crown Court was told. Frost’s computer and hard-drive were seized and he was found to have 8,590 images stored on there as well as a film. Frost, 35, pleaded guilty to the offence of making and possessing indecent photographs of children between August 2009 and July 2011 and was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 years. James Byatt, prosecuting, told the court that on the scale of judging the explicit nature of indecent images, 8,505 were of level one, 44 of level two, 12 of level three, 15 of level four and 14 of level 5 – with level 10 being the most serious. Mr Byatt said: “He was arrested and interviewed and made a full and frank admission. “He had downloaded them for his own personal use and had not shared or distributed them. “He would use the images once a week for sexual gratification.” Mr Byatt told the court that since his arrest, Frost had made great attempts to cure his problem by attending the Lucy Faithfull Foundation, a child protection charity. Paul Fleming, mitigating, said Frost realised his actions were illegal and was grateful to the police for pointing him in the direction of the advice groups. Frost was given a two year supervision order and registered as a sex offender for five years. He will also have to make available any internet history to police on demand for five years.
